Turkmen delegation visits Najaf clergymen for support

NAJAF/ Aswat al-Iraq: A Turkmen delegation visited today renowned Sheikh al-Fayyadh and Sheikh al-Najafi to discuss the security situation in the Turkmen areas.

 

The delegation was headed by Mohammed Taqi al-Moula and Youth and Sports Minister Jassim Mohammed Jaffar.

 

Minister Jaffar told Aswat al-Iraq that the aim of the visit is get the support of Shiite clergymen to end the neglect situation lived by the Turkmen in their areas.

 

"If the government continued to neglect the Turkmen and not protecting them, they will, ultimately, leave their areas, because they cannot bear another violent wave against them", Jaffar continued saying.

 

Kirkuk, where the Turkmen live with the Kurds and Arabs, witnessed yesterday a wave of violence that resulted in killing 21 and wounding 154, including Kurdish and governmental forces.
