BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Transport Minister announced here today the resumption of flights to Kuwait after a 23-year cut off.
In a statement by the ministry, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, a number of Iraqi senior officials and parliamentarians will participate in this event.
Kuwait demanded $1.2 billion to compensate Kuwaiti Airways for confiscating 17 planes after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
Last year, both countries tried to solve some pending questions, including the Kuwait Airways issue, who agreed to finalize the whole case by Iraq paying $500 million.
