NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police sources said here today that a cop was killed and five wounded in a suicidal explosion south of Mosul.

The explosion, targeting a security check point, was made by a suicidal car.

It led to burning a number of police and civilian vehicles.

This check point made strict inspection procedures and prevented the citizens coming into Mosul from entering the city.

Mosul, center of the province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
