BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Palm Dates Department announced here today the increase of the trees in Iraq to 21 million palm dates, stressing that new kinds will be imported from United Arab Emirates.

Nouriya Faisal told Aswat al-Iraq that the latest statistics for palm dates, in all kinds, reached to 21 million trees.

New statistics will be made to have exact figures.

Faisal added that there are 648 kinds of dates; some were imported from UAE which proved adaptability to Iraqi climate.
