Turkey has lions-share of investments in Basra province

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: The Turkish Consul in Basra disclosed today that the Turkish companies have the greater share in investments and employment in the province.
 
 
Farouq Qaimaqchi added that about 100 Turkish companies are working in Basra; some of these companies are cooperating with the Iraqi government to recruit more than 10,000 citizens from Basra.
 
 
He added that the areas of work include power production, construction of hospitals, international fairs, aviation, and oil.
 
 
"The latest project was to rehabilitate iron and steel factories with a cost of $700 million," he added.
