Sadrists deny threats against Qatari newspaper
4/7/2012 7:08 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Spokesperson of the Sadrist bloc, Sheikh Salah al-Ubeidi, denied on Saturday threats made by Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr against a Qatari newspaper.

“Muqtada al-Sadr did not threaten any paper not in a statement nor during a word and the newspaper has to provide their evidences on such claims,” Sheikh Salah al-Ubeidi told the media center of the political bureau of the Sadrist bloc.

“We have our own media institutions and our emails known by all mass media and anything out of this is not true,” he added, noting that the newspaper has to email one of our media institutions to make sure of the message it received.

“Our Islamic values and the unity spirit we have and al-Sadr’s interests in the nation’s problems prevent us of making such threats,” he said.
