BASRA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Ministry of oil announced the operation of the second floating pier to export crude oil in southern ports.

Minister Abdul Kareem Li'aibi stated that the new pier will give Iraq flexibility in export potentialities.

The ministry inaugurated last February the first phase of increasing export capacity by operating the first floating pier.

These floating piers are part of four to increase crude oil exports, which expected to reach more than 6 million b/d in the coming three years.

On the other hand, the ministry built four oil tanks with a capacity of 240.000 barrels each, within a step to build 12 tanks for export reasons.
