BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqiya bloc expressed astonishment and denunciation to the statement made by some State of Law MPs, who demanded Iraqiya bloc to define its position from the speech made by ex-regime vice president Izzat al-Douri, describing this demand as "worse than the statement of Douri's statement itself".
Iraqiya spokeswoman Maysoon al-Damalouji added that "they should ask Premier Nouri al-Maliki how al-Douri happened to be in Babel, which is full with security forces under his command".
She pointed out that the beneficiary of the appearance of al-Douri in the media is "who is trying to suppress the demonstrations and to foil Iraqi people's legitimate demands".
Damalouji expressed the keenness of the Iraqiya bloc to "continue peaceful and independent demonstrations".
Earlier, some State of Law MPs called Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi and the Iraqiya bloc to determine their stand on Douri's speech, which attacked Premier Maliki for implementing a "pro-Iran scheme to divide the country".
Douri supported the demonstrations taking place in Anbar, Salahal-Din and Ninewa against Maliki's government, revealing his presence in Babel presence.
