Two antiquity smugglers detained in Anbar
3/23/2011 6:25 PM

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Policemen arrested on Wednesday two persons wanted for smuggling antiquities in Anbar, a police source said.

“Acting on a tip-off, security forces managed to foil an attempt to smuggle antiquities in the western part of Falluja, where they arrested two wanted men,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The two men are being interrogated to get more information on the smuggling and stealing operations they made in the past,” he added.

Falluja is 60 km west of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, which lies 110 km west of Baghdad.
