BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The electricity ministry has signed a $74million-contract with France’s Shneider Electric to set up 20 substations in four southern provinces to guarantee the stabilization of power in summer, a ministry’s spokesperson said on Saturday.
“The substations will be seven in Basra, six in Thi-Qar, four in Missan and three in Muthanna,” Musaab al-Mudares said in a statement.
“The new stations will contribute in stabilizing the power capacity in the southern provinces and reduce loads in summer.”
