BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Thousands of Anbar, Ninewa, Salahal-Din and Kirkuk demonstrated today calling the central government to release male and female prisoners, cancellation of de-Baathification, the secret informer, terrorism laws, as well as adopting general amnesty law and stop neglecting the Sunni sect.
Aswat al-Iraq correspondents in these province reported that Fallujah and Ramadi cities witnessed massive sit-ins, while demonstrations were held in Mosul, Samarra' and Tikrit and Kirkuk cities.
The demonstrators called for the release innocent prisoners and adoption of general amnesty law, in addition to other demands, including stopping the neglect practiced against Sunni sect, as well as putting the present government into account.
The demonstrations were led by religious clergymen who called for the continuation of the demonstrations till their demands are met.
On the other hand, Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr took part in joint Shiite-Sunni prayers in a Sunni mosque in mid of Baghdad.
The Sadrist leader expressed support to the demonstrations in Anbar, Ninewa and Salah al-Din, regarding their demands as legitimate, except for de-Baathification move.
