ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: A pro-government Sahwa (Awakening) leader Saad al-Shamarri along with two of his bodyguards were killed, while two others were wounded in an attack against their car, according to Anbar police sources.

 

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the attack took place on the old road with light guns.

 

No other details were given.

 

Shammari was the target for 9 assassination attempts during the past period by the armed groups.
