Qaeda leading member arrested in Anbar province
KARBALA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Security Commission member at Karbala Provincial Council said that the security authorities in Ramadi arrested Qaeda leading member, with his brother, who were charged with Karbala explosions.
Jassim al-Fatlawi told Aswat al-Iraq that the arrest operation was conducted by mutual intelligence cooperation between the two provinces.
On the other hand, the security forces arrested ten suspects, who were planning to hit the pilgrims during their religious rites.
Fatlawi told Aswat al-Iraq that "according to intelligence information, ten suspects were arrested who were planning to hit the pilgrims with bombs, trapped vehicles and rockets launching".
No details were given on their connections and the areas to be hit.
This month's religious visit commemorates the birth of Imam al-Mehdi, the 12th Imam, due next Friday, where some millions will visit Holy City of Karbala.
Karbala, center of the province, lies 108 km south west of the capital, Baghdad.
