NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: A jobless local resident suffering mental stress committed a suicide inside his own house west of Mosul city on Friday, a security source in Ninewa said.

“Yassin Taha, 46, married to two women and had five children, committed a suicide inside his house in Majareem village, Hamidat district, west of Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Yassin, who was mentally disturbed for being unemployed for quite a time, opened fire on himself from a Kalashnikov rifle,” his brother, Farhan, said.

Mosul, the capital city of the troubled province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
