KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Security sources said today that a military armored unit was stationed in southern part of Kirkuk city, while Kurdish Peshmerga forces concentrated their presence in the northern part.
The military unit arrived early morning today coming from Tikrit, Salah al-Din province.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the military unit took its positions in Rashad area, 35 km south west of Kirkuk city, which led Kurdish leadership to push more than 500 Peshmerga personnel in the northern part of the city.
Aswat al-Iraq correspondent visited today the areas where Peshmerga forces were stationed, who were permitted to have pictures, without any official statements.
