Call to replace Kobler, Ninewa protestors
1/30/2013 3:37 PM

NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Mosul demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction of the work of UN representative to Iraq Martin Kobler due to his "non-neutrality in dealing with their case".

Demonstrators'' spokesman Ghanim al-Abid told Aswat al-Iraq that the demands of the protestors to Mr.
Kobler did not receive any attention and he was un-neutral in dealing with their issue, because he was supporting the Iraqi government.

He added that Kobler did not take a humane stand on the atrocities committed against the demonstrators.

Kobler's visit is the second for the provinces that witness demonstrations denouncing Premier Nouri al-Maliki's government.

Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.

Mosul, center of the province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
