4 Katyushas seized in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: A military force seized four Katyusha rockets ready for firing in the direction of Baghdad and their launching pads were seized on Monday, an Iraqi army source said.
“An Iraqi army’s 11th Division force seized on Monday four Katyushas and their launching pads were seized in the area of al-Dar’iya, al-Mada’in district, 140 km north of al-Kut before they were to be fired at targets in Baghdad,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The rockets, seized upon intelligence tip-offs, were removed to a safe place to have them defused,” he added.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, is located 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
