Parliament to demand full report on Kuwaiti talks, MP
5/1/2012 4:38 PM

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Parliamentary foreign relations commission MP Nada al-Jbouri said "the commission will meet tomorrow to demand the government provide a detailed report on its meetings with the Kuwaiti side".

Jbouri told Aswat al-Iraq that the previous meetings were the best solutions to reach suitable stands for both sides, including joint investment projects.

Iraqi-Kuwaiti Higher Committee meetings were held in Baghdad during the past two days to discuss a number of dossiers, including 1990 war compensations, Mubarak port and borders demarcation.

Late Sunday night, Iraq and Kuwait signed two agreements; the first stipulated the establishment of joint cooperation committee, while the second will organize navigation in Iraqi Khor Abdulla waterway.

Kuwaiti foreign minister Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah arrived last Sunday to head the Kuwaiti delegation to the committee meetings.

The committee was formed in January last year and held its first meeting in Kuwait in March 2011.

The agreement included enhancement of economic and trade cooperation between the two sides through encouraging and protection of investments.
