KARBALA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Karbala police media director announced here today that two Qaeda members were arrested.

The two were responsible for the latest explosions that led to tens of casualties.

Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Omran told Aswat al-Iraq that the arrest was based on intelligence information.

Investigations are going on to discover the rest of the terrorist cell.

Karbala witnessed on 9 December, 2012 three explosions that led to killing 15 and wounding 52 more, including Afghani visitors to the holy shrines here.

Karbala, center of the province, lies 108 km south west of the capital, Baghdad.
