Kobler arrives in Kirkuk to discuss electoral matters
KIRKUK/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kirkuk UN office reported today that UN representative Martin Kobler arrived here to meet the political components and discuss the elections' questions.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that Kobler will meet Kirkuk governor and chairman of the provincial council to discuss the security situation and the elections there.
Kirkuk lies 280 km north of the capital Baghdad with diversified populations from Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Subbis.
It is one of the disputed areas between Baghdad and Arbil that suffers continued violent actions against the security forces and the civilians, alike.
