NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Security sources said here today that unknown gunmen assassinated a Sunni clergyman east of Mosul.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the clergyman was leaving the most when the unknown killers shot him dead.

No other details were given.

Mosul, center of the province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
