ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: The Kurdish Presidency announced today that Iraqi Presidential Post is a Kurdish right.
In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, the Kurdish presidency stressed this demand, calling any nomination for this post should have the approval of the Kurdish parliament.
The presidential post, following 2003 event, had become the share of the Kurdish people.
The Iraqi constitution stipulated the presidency post should not be more than two terms for the same person, unlike the premiership post, which is under acute wrangling among the political components in the country.
President Jalal Talabani is still assuming his post despite his brain stroke and the long period of medication in Germany.
