BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqiya bloc MP Ahmed al-Alwani denied today the reports of abuse attributed to him, calling the media attack against him is "to cover Anbar uprising".
In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he pointed out that "there are some elements trying to create a state of division between Sunnis and Shiites".
He pointed out that many southern Iraqi tribes wanted to participate in Anbar sit-in, as the statement said.
National Alliance MP Ali al-Alaq called yesterday, Monday, to freeze al-Alwani's parliamentarian membership for uttering unsuitable words.
This wrangling comes after the detention of Finance Minister Raf'i al-Issawi's bodyguards, which led to protests and demonstrations that cut off the international highway connecting Iraq with Syria and Jordan, as well as accusing the federal government of adopting "denominational trend against the Sunni sect", as was stated earlier.
