NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police sources said here today that a cop was wounded by a grenade during an attack against a check-point west of the city.

This attack was followed by a bombed car explosion that led to more casualties, while an investigation judge escaped death by an assassination attempt, the sources added to Aswat al-Iraq.

Precautionary measures were taken, no other details were given.

Earlier, in two spontaneous explosions, seven civilians were killed and 15 wounded, east of Mosul where Shabak and Christian minorities live, the sources said.
