Ignoring national conference may lead to political collapse - MP
1/20/2012 3:31 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish Alliance MP Ashwaq al-Jaff confirmed that her alliance supports the convening of the national conference "as the best opportunity to be used by all political components to solve the present crisis".

It is important to "finalize the agenda before entering the conference to avoid any surprises, which may lead certain bloc to withdraw," she stressed.

Iraq is witnessing great political crisis along the accusations made against vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi and the demotion attempt against deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq, both members of al-Iraqiya Bloc.

Earlier today, a Sadrist Spokesman commented on al-Iraqiya Bloc's decision to withdraw from the parliament sessions, thereby deepening the political crisis, calling the move "unpractical".
