NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Ninewa Operations Command closed, for the second day, the sit-in square, calling the demonstrators to have an official permit.

Mosul citizens went to the square today, Sunday, but the security forces prevented them, calling them to get the official license, as reported to Aswat al-Iraq.

Security forces surrounded the province and provincial council premises when the people moved there to demand opening the square, the sources added.

Yesterday, Governor Atheel Nujaifi opened the square in mid of the city following hours of its closure, stating his approval for the sit-in in Ahrar square for another three days.

He criticized security treatment to the demonstrators, threatening to take legal actions against deputy commander of Ninewa Operations Command.

Today, Sunday, Nujaifi shouldered the Operations Command the responsibility of any bloodshed in the province, criticizing army intervention in the political work, as stated in a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq.
