ANBAR/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police sources said here today that a first lieutenant was killed and two of his bodyguards were wounded in a bomb explosion against their patrol in Heet west of Anbar.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that investigations were made, but no other details were given.
Anbar province is witnessing protest demonstrations for the last few weeks, where the protestors, including politicians and parliamentarians, demanded the release of innocent detainees, adoption of general amnesty law, redeeming the political path on the basis of "real partnership" and ending the neglect practiced against Sunni sect.
Other demonstrators called to topple Premier Maliki's government and put it into account.
Heet lies 70 km west of Ramadi, center of the province, which is situated 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.
