NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq:  A soldier was shot north of Mosul, security sources said here today.

 

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the soldier was killed when he was shot at a military check point north of the city.

 

"The killers were riding a car when they opened fire before fleeing the scene," the source added.

 

Mosul, the center of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
