WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Preparations are underway to update the voters' registry, scheduled early next month, four months before the provincial councils elections, head of the electoral commission in Wassit said on Thursday.

 

 

"The commission prepares for updating the preliminary voters' registry, as a step before the coming provincial councils elections," Haiar Abd Allawi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

 

"A total of 31 centers have been prepared throughout the province, including ten in Kut, to receive citizens," he added.

 

 

Kut, the capital of Wassit, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
