ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish region presidency announced the return of President Masoud Barzani to Arbil after ending his official visit to Federal Russia.

In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, the visit lasted for four days during which he had talks with Russian president Vladimir Putin, foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and other senior officials.

Discussions were held on the internal situation in Iraq as well as the development of bilateral relations.

Cooperation with Russian Oil Gasprom Company was also discussed.

The company had some contracts in mid Iraq.

The visit was the focus of news items and reports, which was described as "successful".
