Attempts to create tense situation in Basra, security commission
4/17/2012 7:00 PM

BASRA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Head of the Security Commission in Basra Ali al-Maliki announced today that "there are groups trying to create tense situation in the province through different means, lastly sound bombs near Dawa Party headquarters.

Member of the State of Law bloc added that these attempts began before three months where sound bombs exploded near party and religious quarters".

He added that these groups failed in disturbing the situation in the province through protests and demonstrations, so they resorted to sound bombs.

He added that these explosions were accompanied by placards against premier Nouri al-Maliki and his government.

"The security situation in Basra is well controlled and the local government is fully aware of these practices", he confirmed.

The explosions did not result in material damages, as reported.
