KIRKUK/ Aswat al-Iraq: Polices sources said here today that a child was hurt due mortar shell explosion that fell on his house south west Kirkuk.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the explosion took place in Haweeja area, 65 km south west Kirkuk, that led to material losses in the residence.

No other details were given.

Kirkuk, center of the city, lies 280 km north east of the capital, Baghdad.

It is one of the disputed areas between Baghdad and Arbil that witnesses continued violent actions against the military and civilians, alike.
