ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: A house belongs to an army major was detonated by an armed group in southern Falluja, a police source said on Friday.

"An armed group planted a number of bombs around the house of Major Sabah Ubeid Sayer in al-Bouhou region, central al-Aameriya district, southern Falluja, and detonated them without causing casualties," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

"The explosion caused severe material damage to the house," he added, noting that the officer and his family were not there.

"Security forces searched nearby houses as a precautionary measure," he continued.
