ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdistan's Peshmerga Ministry said on Saturday that it sent a force to al-Touz district to help calm the situation down, according to a security source.
“The force arrived in al-Touz, south of Kirkuk, to calm down and control the situation to avoid clashes or any further deterioration of the situation,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The district, 80 km south of Kirkuk, on Friday witnessed fierce clashes between Peshmerga forces and Tigris Operations troops, during which one was killed and nine were wounded.
