BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Journalistic Freedoms Observatory expressed regret for arresting a French journalist for the last month, calling to release him immediately.
The observatory described the arrest as "a dangerous reputation against Iraq".
It called permitting the local and foreign journalists to work without prior approval from security authorities, as said in a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq.
The journalist, Nadir Dandon, 40, who works for Lomond Diplomatic, is visiting Iraq to write reports on the Iraqi situation.
The Observatory was informed by a French diplomatic source that Dandon was arrested without charges against him.
Dendon is having Algerian and Australian nationalities.
