Mosul enters 8th day of sit-in

NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: The sit-in in Ahrar square continued for the 8th day, with a call today for a joint Friday prayers.
 
 
This Friday is called "Steadfastness Friday", as called by the protesters.
 
 
An activist, Ghanim al-Abid, told Aswat al-Iraq that the protesters are pouring into the square, with their demands, including cancelling terrorism and de-Baathification laws, as well as releasing the detainees, males and females.
 
 
It is expected that thousands will participate in today Friday's prayers, which shall be divided into two praying ceremonies, the first on the left side of the city and the second on the right one, if the security forces blocked moving from one side to another.
 
 
Mosul, center of the city, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
