IHEC says not officially notified on Husseini’s resignation
4/7/2011 6:06 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission’s election department chief Hamdiya al-Husseini did not officially notify the IHEC of her resignation, according to the commission’s chief on Thursday.

“We’ve heard that Husseini wanted to resign the IHEC but we were not officially notified on this so far.
Today, we will meet with Husseini to know about the validity of this information,” Faraj al-Haydari told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Husseini is under immense pressure over social issues as well as her responsibilities towards her children, which could be the reasons behind the resignation if there’s any,” said Haydari.
