Gunmen kill mosque’s imam, his wife, daughter in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: A mosque’s imam was killed along with his wife and his daughter by gunmen on Friday in northeast of Baaquba, a police source said.
“Unknown armed men stormed the house of Said Bashier Mutlaq al-Samedie, imam of Imam Weis mosque in Khanaqin, northeast of Baaquba, killing him, his wife and his eight-year-old daughter,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The gunmen suspected of being al-Qaeda elements,” he added.
Baaquba, the capital of Diala, is 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
