Senior police officer injured in blast near Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: An officer in the rank of Lt.
Colonel was wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to his vehicle went off west of Baghdad city on Friday, a security source said.
“Interior Ministry Lt.
Colonel Basel Muhammad Hassan was wounded when an IED attached to his vehicle went off near al-Sa’aa restaurant, in the area of al-Mansour, west of Baghdad,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The source did not give further details about the incident.
