NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Army forces arrested on Tuesday the finance minister of what is called the Islamic State of Iraq armed group in south of Mosul, an army source said.

"A force from the 2nd division of the Iraqi army in Mosul arrested Ibrahim Mohammad Ahmad al-Juburi, the finance minister of the Islamic State of Iraq armed group, in south of Mosul," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

"The force found a weapons cache, including TNT and explosives, during the operation," the source added.

He did not give more details.

Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
