BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: European Union Foreign Ministers will discuss Monday in Brussels the situation in Iraq.

An Iraqi foreign ministry statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, said that the EU "hopes to play a role to assist Iraq in stabilizing the country".

It added that the EU is hoping to coordinate moves with the UN and its mission in Iraq to continue the EU role, which started in 2003 to develop important and vital sectors, such as water and agriculture.
