Body of young woman found near Kut

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Policemen found the unidentified body of a young woman showing signs of having been shot south of al-Kut city on Saturday, a local police source in Wassit said.
“The body, of a woman in her 20s, was found in the open near the administrative borders of Sheikh Saad district, (55 km) south of Kut, and showed signs of having been shot in the chest,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The body was removed to the Kut-based al-Zahraa Hospital morgue,” he added.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
