WASSIT/ Aswat al-Iraq: Christians in Wassit province decided today cancelling their festivities in the Christmas and the New Year for their timing with Shiite yearly mourning of Imam Hussein.

Fadi Yousif, a Christian from the province, told Aswat al-Iraq that the Christian families here decided to cancel their ceremonies and limit them in their houses.

He pointed out that the Christians in the province will assist the Shiites in their mourning activities to help the visitors passing through the province on their way to Karbala.
