Falah Shanshal head of Accountability and Justice Commission
10/8/2012 3:30 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Justice and Accountability Commission has elected Falah Hassan Shanshal as a chairman and Bakhtyar Omar as his deputy.

This came in breaking news of the state-run al-Iraqiya television.

Shanshal is a member of the Sadrist bloc and was a State Minister in the current government before canceling his portfolio, while his deputy belongs to the Kurdistan Alliance.

Iraq's Accountability and Justice Commission is charged with purging the government of mid- and senior-level members of ex-dictator Saddam Hussein's now-outlawed Baath Party.
