State of Law MPs leave Parliamentary session
1/26/2013 3:07 PM

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: State of Law MPs left today the parliamentary session to prevent endorsing a law that limits the terms of the three presidencies.

A parliamentary media source told Aswat al-Iraq that the MPs withdrew when voting started to limit the term into two terms only.

This withdrawal led to the unbalance in the votes of the MPs.

State of Law bloc and Dawa party do not support endorsing a new law to limit the premiership by two terms, because they want Premier Nouri al-Maliki to remain in his post for a third term.

The present premiership term will end next year, 2014.
