11/26/2012 6:55 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Defense Ministry and Kurdish Peshmerga forces have agreed to withdraw all forces to their previous positions, the Commander-in-Chief's Office reported.

Both sides "held talks which were characterized with vocal discussions and transparency," A press statement published online noted.

The meeting discussed means to minimize tensions in the mixed areas, the statement added.

PUK's Website reported that "it has been agreed to continue discussions over the coming few days."

The Kurdish delegation arrived today in Baghdad to discuss the recent military tensions with the Central Government's Ministry of Defense.
